Re: Adding a Windows user for WPM transaction - impact on other transactions?

Hello Erik,

WPM has two ways how to use user account for transactions.

  1. If target page accepts username/password authentication, there should be authentication dialog popping up in recorder where you can enter credentials of a user. then these credentials will be used only for that transaction.
  2. If target page requires user account transparently (user has to be one running the browser session), then you need to use SolarWinds.SEUM.AgentDomainConfigurationTool.exe. This utility sets "pool" of user accounts that are shared for all transactions. WPM uses separate "worker processes" for playing transactions and each process uses one of defined accounts. When you have WPM player installed on main WPM server, there are 2 worker processes -> 2 accounts are required. If you install WPM player to separate machine, there are 7 worker processes -> 7 accounts will be required. Once you set these accounts, they are undeterministically shared by all transactions. Transaction can be played using any of these accounts so all need to have appropriate permissions in your application.
