You can for sure create an new DB for WPM on your existing SQL server.
- How many players you think we’d need?
Depends on how transaction are long. Suppose that transaction took 30 s. With some configuration changes 7 transactions can run in parallel. So you can theoretically run 70 transaction with 5 minute interval, but this is theory, it depends on many things. - DB requirements (can the WPM DB share an existing SQL instance or does it need to be dedicated)? N.B. we use a remote SQL server instance. Yes
- Will/can this installation share any of the existing NPM and NCM infrastructure? (we have two data centers at this site and it would appear only one Solarwinds server) *Update: I've just seen another thread in Thwack that answers this question I think- that WPM is quite 'light' and has no issues sharing an existing Solarwinds server- does this sound correct, and is there anything I'm missing? Yes
- Rough timescales for installation. Installation itself took like 3/4 h.
- Any areas that would require assistance from Solarwinds pre-sales/professional services. Nothing particular comes to my mind.
